So I'm trying to get updated on blogs before the Christmas break comes and I'm swamped with blog topics. H LOVES his baths! I've never known a boy as worried about being clean as him. As soon as he wets or soils his diaper, he fusses for a new one...and I really mean AS SOON. He loves every bit of bath time...except getting out. If he is going to cry at all during bath time, it will be when it is time to get out.
However, I have come up with a routine that seems to help things run smoother. I'm usually doing bath time by myself, so the smoother the better. Before running the bath, I put his hooded towel, a big white towel, and his PJs in the dryer. I then start the bath, with his help. He get so excited when we go in the bathroom to run the water. I then take him in get undressed and have the diaper and medicine ready for after bath time. We grab the hooded towel and leave the rest in the running dryer.
After a long bath time, complete with singing, splashing and washing, we use the hooded towel (which is still fairly warm) to dry off. I grab the big towel and PJs from the dryer. I then wrap him up in the big whit towel and he loves it! I haven't had tears at the end of bath time recently with this routine. His PJs are also nice and warm when we are finished with "naked time."
However, Sunday night we had a new experience that H found hilarious. I ALWAYS bundle him in the white towel and let him enjoy the soft warm feeling for a while before putting him in a diaper and PJs. On Sunday, I was putting away laundry while he was watching. He was wrapped all warm, but of course kicking and moving all around, as usual. Next thing I know, we have Old Faithful! He had managed to kick the towel just enough to have about an inch opening. And Talented Mr. H managed to aim his pee through that hole, straight into the air and back down on the outside of the towel and his changing pad. I was amazed by how he kept himself clean and kept my bed clean. He thought it was hilarious, and when I found that it only got on the towel and pad, I had a good laugh too. I can only hope he has this great of aim when it comes to the toilet!
Here are some pictures from before the peeing incident.
