Tub Friends

So tonight H was having a blast in his bath. I decided to take a short video of his and his toys. He LOVES his nightly bath and will not go to bed without it.

Here are a couple cute pictures too.

6 Month Check Up

This past Monday was H's 6 mo. check up. He was a ham for the doctor and was eager to show her and tell her his tricks. She said he is doing great with physical development and is very strong. When she was examining him lying down, he kept kicking his legs everywhere. Then, when she held his hands he pulled himself into a standing position and proceeded to "jump" on the table. We both got a good laugh.
Every time we laughed, he would crack up, though he has no idea what we are laughing at! He also told her "dududududu" and "bububububu."
As far as growth, he is doing great. He weighed 16 lbs exactly (slightly below 25th %ile); measured at 24 3/4 inches* (about 10th %ile), and has a large head, measuring 17 1/2 inches (75th %ile). *The doctor said that she thought his height may have been incorrect and when I remeasured him at home, he was 25 3/4 inches (about 25th %ile). I've convinced him that his head is so big to hold his brains. :)
He did have to get a shot in each leg, which lead to holding his breath and screaming. He is fine now, after a couple crabby days.
That night when I was doing laundry H decided to play with my scarf. You can see his Garfield band-aid. This was obviously a happy H.

We're just so blessed with a healthy and extremely happy baby!

Happy 6 months Birthday

It is so hard to believe that H is 6 months today! This has definitely been the fastest (and most amazing) 6 months of my life. He has grown so much...from sleeping and eating all day 6 months ago to the many things he can do now...laugh hysterically, sit up and play endlessly, creep across the floor, roll over and over and over, put everything in his mouth, put himself to sleep at night, jump for hours in his jumper, look over the edge of his crib, understand the words "bath," "eat," and "bottle," eat many fruits and vegetables, change the channel with the remote, pull himself into the standing position, and much, much more!

Here are a few pictures of Hudson on each of his "birthdays."

Just born (August 22nd)

One Month Birthday (September 22nd)
Two Months Birthday (October 22nd)
Three Months Birthday (November 22nd)

Four Months Birthday (December 22nd)

Five Months Birthday (January 22nd)

AND SIX MONTHS!!

Really...snow...for real this time!

So the Tuesday after MLK Jr. Day, we were forecasted to have a big snow storm. All the school systems got ahead of themselves and cancelled school before the first snow flake came...and it never came. Though I enjoyed a day with H, it was frusterating to know we would have to make it up on a much needed scheduled day off. Yesterday, Presidents' Day, was that make-up day. Last week, when I saw the forecasted 30s temperatures, I mentioned to several people that I thought it would be great irony if it snowed on the "snow day" make-up. My father-in-law told me I was crazy and wasn't paying attention to the forecast. However, I was just noting possible irony, not assuming or even hoping.
Then, when we woke up yesterday, the yard, trees, cars, roofs, and patio furniture was all covered with a thin blanket of fresh snow. Notice there was no mention of sidewalks, driveways, or roads. No such luck. The irony stopped there, and would have been better had we got a 2-hour delay or better yet a "snow day." After all, there was actually snow this time!
Well H must have known something exciting was happening and woke up early. We caught a few pictures of him in his first snow.
Looking at J with the "what the heck are we out here for?" face. I took him out of the crib and out the front door for a pic.

Checking it all out. A little more awake but still wondering what is going on.

Here he is a couple Fridays ago when there was a flurry or two.

Happy Valentine's Day

On Saturday, H celebrated his first Valentine's Day. We had an ODU bball game in the afternoon and a hot date to Walmart. Here he is dressed in his Valentine's Day outfits leading up to the big day.
Here he is shopping with Whit and me. He is a GREAT shopper!Little Heart Breaker.
In his PJs with daddy.

Chilling with Uncle Mark.

I now realize that we didn't even get the actual onesies in photos because of his bibs. However, he was dressed for the holiday.

Here H is taking a nap at the basketball game, under his tent.
